an alignment and wheel balance would be a good place to start also does it happen all the time or just when you brake?? If it happens when you brake it could be warped brake rotors. |
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

if you have wider rear tyres compared to your front tyres then this also shifts the car around a bit causing the steering wheel to jump! |

any shaking or shuttering in the front is usually caused by warped disc rotors , damaged rims , lumps in tryes , faulty rack an pinion , out of wheel alignment.. |

If your rotors are warped or in need of machining, when your at high speed and brake moderately the steering will shake noticebly. sorry i should explain myself better! |

If your steering shakes at certain speeds, and you got a wheel alignment recently, Make sure your tyres are same sizes and thicknesses. Second of all, get a wheel balance. That is often the cause for intermittent shaking. |

the th700's have a terrible habit of wearing out the torque converter, and you'll find the shudder happens in third gear when your off the throttle and anything up to a quarter. |

my car has this shake in it that nodg is explaining... the wheel will shake from about 80kms to about 95kms. or in third gear i think. however i dont think it is the torque converter as i only noticed the shake when i fitted my new 18s, but i still need to get them balanced and aligned, if thats not the problem i will be needing either new wheel bearings or a steering rack, so im hoping for the balance and alignment!! |
