Since I'm running dial-up speed at the moment (damn having downloaded more than 25gig in a month!!!) I won't check out the link, BUT...for $220, I'd be expecting a full cat-back setup running at 2.5" or more.
Don't go any larger than 3.25" on a N/A V6, and if you're going any larger than 2.5" make sure that you've got both mufflers in place. Even if one of them is a 'hot dog' make sure that it's there.
If all you want to do is remove the rear muffler and replace it with straight pipe, any exhaust shop can do that for you in about 30 minutes for about $50, it'll sound louder, that's about it.
Cat back systems do nothing for performance, not on they dyno anyway. They do make the car faster in your mind however, and in the case of males, extend penis length by the diameter of the exhaust (ie. a 2.5" exhaust is a 2.5" extension). If you want to actually improve the performance of the car, look at a full length setup, the engine pipes (not the manifold, I'm talking about the y-pipe) is the largest performance restriction, closely followed by the catalytic converter.
While it's common to just remove or 'punch out' the cat, it's illegal and can end up with you in court facing a $10,000 fine. High flow catalytic converters cost a lot less than that, so I'd suggest buying one of those if you're going to get that worried.
By the time you've purchased the one off e-bay and had it transported, you'd be better of having gotten one down here. |
