ive noticed that mine, my mates and a heap of other VNs have a small bit of rust between the seal and the top of the rear windshield right in the middle or slightly to the left or right. WHY?!?!?!
is it just mine, coz ive seen a heap of em with it?
Anybody else got that???

Yep...It's a well known spot for VN's to rust. Why it happens there is when it rains a little bit of moisture gets trapped by the rear window rubber and just sits there. Well...after 18 years or so...she starts to rust a bit.

I've had this also. I reckon it something to do with the rubber seal around the window rubbing against the paint with body flex. Small bits of grit get lodged between paint and rubber and grind small little holes that get to the metal..

Thats my theory

My vn has exactly the same problem. I used to work for a panel beater and he said it could be fixed reasonably easy and cheaply, a bit of grinding, welding maybe and some body filler and whatever paint colour you need, most people would be able to fix it themselves i would think. Hard part might be moving the window seal but im not sure myself, anyone else know?

i got mine all cut out about 7wks ago and looks like the new rubber doesnt fit proply apperantly crash repair recon its a com problem it cost 600 is that cheap
