 new to the game and all i've really spent my money on is the thumping system.
would like some ideas on mods to start with for my vn v6 berlina????? including a place to get a replacement throttle body...
put a pod filter in to help keep the engine temp under control for now and am getting a 2.5" catback exhaust on friday along with 17" silver mags.
another thing... does anyone know any place to get a reasonable price retrim? want a blue interior to suite the silver exterior...???
PLEASE HELP cause im stumped

| Search old topics there is heaps of threads on mods to the V6...as for interior you can do that your self if your game, i think there is a write up in "how to's" on how to do it. I did mine blue and i love it. |

| i had a little look in the how to's section and didnt see the retrim.... im definately game, installed my sound system on my own without any idea what i was doin... is this heaps cheaper? and wheres the how to bit? |

If you were interested, it is possible to fit later model seats into the VN front and rear- I'm pretty sure there was a blue and black factory trim in the later models that would probably suit what you are after... I would imagine that it is substantially cheaper than a custom retrim. Having said that though, I am eying off some custom foam work in the front and the rear while retaining as close to factory trim as possible so you need to make a call as to what you are hoping to achieve- an upgrade in comfort or simply colour changing.
The engine mod thread would be a good place to start... I'm pretty sure it is directly below this one at the moment.
I'm not sure a pod will help keep engine temps down and canI ask why you need a replacement throttle body? |

need a new throttle body because mine hisses and ive been told thats because there is a crack in it somewhere (apparently its a typical fault)
the pod is actually helping, its doing much better than an enclosed airbox anyway.
and with the retrim i would like to know where i could find these black and blue seats... 
keep me updated on the costs and details on your interior because if the pricing isnt too different then im more than happy to upgrade comfort and colour  |

. you need to do alot of research b4 you waste you money you might make your car look like ****. but good luck with it |

| It was either VT or VS that had the seats I am thinking off... they were predominately black with blue. |

| I did mine for about $50 but i got the wrong paint. Im redoing it all when i have the time. Blue, silver, white with a red outline i think... But as for a how to.. i saw one somewhere once but if i cant or you cant find it ill write one for u off top of my head but it mite not be that great. |

| dude theres only one thing that sounds wrong with what youve done so far n that is the pod filter too keep your temp down by disconnecting your air box n installin a pod onto the intake has just increased the temp the only way youll decrease it is by using a cai kit too the air box a pod sittin in your engine bay is just going too suck hot air all day long |

yeah ill post pics when done. Could take me awhile coz i gotta plan out a few emblems and so on. So far iv basically got colours down so now i just need a weekend and the gear. I think the smooth finish is what i want, blue dash with red outline, blue centre with red again. And door trims will be mixed with blue white and silver ;) I dont know what brand the paint/dye is but auto one, supercheap should be able to help u, thats where i saw my gear.
As for CAI and POD, unless ur POD is good quality(K&N) not a cheapo $30 job, then its not gonna be that greath. Either go all out for good POD or Panel or dont do it at all i say. In the long run its not doin the engine any favours. |

see this is why i love this forum... well the pod filter isnt a cheapo one but aint a branded one... i put a longer pipe on it so it sits right near the front (cms longer than stock) but its actually helping the car heaps. it cost me about 80bux.
thought of another question to add here... would changing the slightly disappointing auto to a manual be worth it if im keeping it for a long time and dont like auto??
basically can i get everyones opinion on the risks and weigh up their thoughts on the idea... really keen to just need the re-assurance and a cost estimate... |
