dude........a lot of work, plus ur gonna need an engine crane, expensive to hire if u dont have one.
Unless the body of the SS is screwed, you'd be better just using that.

If you have a donner car it is quite easy if you arent scared of a little work. Just a few things off the top of my head would be the K-frame, upgraded braking system, ECU and wiring harness, gearbox and diff. I am not sure if that is everything but that will give you an idea of what you will be in for.

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

finally something positive lol. i need a new brake system anyway coz mine leave a lot to be desired. most of the motors i've seen advertised have the ecu and wiring harness with them. it's all stuff i'm going to have to upgrade no matter what i do to get the extra power. 2 questions
1. what is the K-frame?
2. Is there any difference between the t-5 gearbox that came out in the 6's and the 8's?

anything else i might have to consider?

I know that the auto th700's have different belhousing stud patterns, Im assuming that the t5' will vary between V6's and V8's too

The K-frame is the structure that secures the engine and front suspension into the chassis. Yes the t-5's are different between the 6's and the 8's i think the bellhousing, the input shaft and the ratio of some of the gearing are the major differences, not 100% on that though.

i saw in the melbourne trading post everything that would be needed for conversion. e,g gearbox, motor, K-frame, tailshaft, basically everything except the brakes for $1800 is that a fairly decent price?? and i've seen places on the mainland that actually specialise in doing the conversion. but the problem is im in tassie and tassie has nothing compared to what u can get on the mainland

that seems pretty good. is the engine a goer or a rebuilder?? Just to give you idea a decent 5L including harness and computer can go for anywhere up to 2000-4000 depending on condition.

Yea its all basically bolt in stuff. Wiring is probly the biggest issue, its not my strongest point. Its just the quantity of work really but all relatively easy if your competent enough. Get a few mates to help you to get it done alot quicker. Ill take a tired 8 over a tired 6 anyday :) Also you need springs from a 8cyl
