Its about time, but i have finally finished putting a vr commodore dash and door trims into my VN exec. its was a lot of fiddling butfinally done. pics a1re being uploaded as i write this. check it out and let me know what you think.

wow that looks so cool very nice job im just wondering the normal surface of the vr dash is pretty ruff did u have to smooth it out to get it painted or u just painted it on the ruff serfuce if u did smooth it out how u do it. looks pretty good i like |

mate that looks absolutly awesome,you have done a fantastic job you must be very proud of it well done, so how long did it take to do it from start to finish i am considering doing it to my vn as well? |

@ sweet i just preped the surface with prepwash(like a mild thinners) then painted over the top, it looks really smooth in the pics but it stil has the texture that the dash already had.
@yanna i started everything when i lost my liecience in August 2006. it took about 8 weeks to clean the shed out before i could even begin, but i wasn't hurring myself, as i only got to work on it one maybe 2 days a week due to work.
@benche i wish, i reckon it look cool but i'm not sure if its show quality.
@ YLD50L as for the seats yeh i would like some better ones, but for now i've got black velvor seat covers that finish it off really well.

IT looks relly good... no wonder it took soo long but i think well worth it. how much did it cost you all up?
The seats look alright with the covers on them, but if you are thinking of getting better ones the calais are pritty good and are the only seats which legally fit onto the existing rails with out too much effort. They should set you back around $500 give or take. But then again they are a different shade of grey so i don't know if they would go with the great effort you put in. |

again very nice james you've done a fawsome job there m8.. not to plusd on the steering wheel but .. but like anything itll grow on ya ..;) what futre plans have u got in store 4 it!!!
also m8 realy if plan on spending $500 on calis seats wich is crap ..(u can get a nice set 4 around $200..) but get the seats u have and get them re upolstered to somthing custom.. thatll set u bak around $500 4 somthing realy nice.. keep us posted I will be keeping a eye out on this 1... great work m8 keep it up!! |
