i had a VT s with a 5speed behind it from factory, so they are around. This sounds like a great conversion you are doing keep us informed on how you go with the engine transplant. |

Personally I'd be finding a nice 6spd to throw behind it. If you're going to go to all the effort of doing an engine swap on the VN, might as well make it extra special.
That said...what gear box did they come from the factory with? |

eww...why would you get such a nice engine and have an auto behind it. What was Holden thinking?
That might mean that you'll be looking at getting a custom bell-housing made up, not to mention having to try to find a clutch kit and flywheel to do the job. A manual would be a damn good thing to get behind it, but how much will it cost to do that?
Also, you'll need to get the memcal re-written, by that stage they were running electronically controlled gear boxes, if you throw a manual at it, it's going to get all confused. |

| cost too much to make em manual and demand isnt high enough to justify the cost (unless your a male... or sometimes female... in the 18-25 yr old category lol) |
