Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows what the standard size of a VP V6 Throttle body is?

Cheers for that, I was wondering if a 65mm V8 Throttle body would make much difference?

yeah nodg is right you get a throttle body on it's own it won't do much,
no point getting a V8 throttle body cos for the same money you will pick up a mace engineering one which is bolt on.

combine a bored out throttle with a proper cold air intake or KnN filter and a 2.1/2" exhaust with the muffler chopped out, reset the ECU in the how too section and you will have a very noticeable extra punch.

just be smart in seeking out the parts and it shouldn't cost you much.

that's cool camo91vp if you already have that.

do you have a cold air intake or KnN filter?

when u install the throttle body i think you have to rev it at about 3g for 30sec or something but also you may benifit from resetting the ECU (read the how to section).

anyone is welcome to correct me if I'm wrong but that's what i"d do so the computers are all updated with the new installation.

Haven't got CAI or K&N Filter but have a stainless pod on it, I am just waiting for pod filter enclosure. I will probably get my mechanic to put throttle body on and recalibrate it.

all you need now is a tune, and if you want a bit more go out of the transmission get a corvette servo put in (if its auto)

Cheers,
Nodg.

ahh so like you were telling me about the shift kits for my th700 trans in my V6, I know what that will do and will this corvette servo make extra performance from my trans when combined?

do you have one of these on your vn nodg, is your V8 trans the same auto?

250 for installation & service and 50 for the corvette servo, the shift kit and servo arent needed together, you will get a very sharp and crisp shift off the servo alone

Cheers,
Nodg.

Hey everyone know those 70mm throttle body's from mace engineering bolt straight on right.

I've been looking around on eBay and seen for the same price 90mm universal throttle body's.

My question is will these go straight on in tha same holes or are they a lot of fcukig around?

Alot of bodgy work to be done. The 60mm and 70mm throttles have the same stud pattern to bolt on to the intlet manifold. The 90mm has a 4 stud pattern, but you still wouldnt be able to bolt 2 studs because of the difference in diameter. They would require welding to the standard plenum manifold, which i would not do. You are better off going the 70mm, or if you want more airflow than the 70mm, then the more expensive option is to go for the twin throttle/manifold that mace sell. Welding the 90mm on is not a safe option, and it is asking for a defect.

yeah thanks i wouldn't be bothered doing stuff like and don't have the money for one of those twin manifolds as they are like a $1200 or so.

I'll just stick to the 70mm one. if the original one is 60mm does it make that much difference?
