Shouldn't be too hard to knock one together at home, so long as you can use a soldering iron, can do your own fiberglassing and a little bit of electrical engineering. There's a few people here who could probably do it for you if you wanted to pay them.

Failing that I'm pretty sure that you can get a full Motec dash display, but I'd have a hard time justifying the several thousand dollars it would cost.

A digital Fuel gauge wouldn't be too hard, a digital temperature gauge (that's just a freaking thermometer), digital speedo (that will just need to be a frequency counter with an altered multiplyer in the back so that it is calibrated properly) and digital tacho's are a dime a dozen at places like Jaycar.

A full L2 cluster could be replaced with full digital readouts for less than $200 if you can do the fitout yourself. The time is going to be the real killer.

Does anyone know where we can get a wiring diagram for the instrument cluster?

Thanks for that.
Do you know of anyone that could knock up the digital gauges?

Usually you can pick up the wiring diagram from a vn commodore manual, gregories and haynes just say "refer to vn manual"

Putting the actual gauges together would be fairly simple, you can buy the kits at places like Jaycar and Dick-Smith Electronics. They have Digital Tacho kits that can be put together by anyone who knows which end of a soldering iron to hold on to.

A digital speedo would be an almost identical kit, and I think I've seen a few of them around too. After that...all you'll need is a digital volt meter (that's going to be the fuel gauge, the fuel sender is just a variable resistor, I think from memory it's about 5V for Full and 13.8V for Bone dry). And if you want it a digital thermometer (easy enough to find).

Call around, I'm sure you'll have at least one mate who can solder electrical stuff.

As for the wiring diagram, I'm not 100% sure, but i don't think you'll need one for the cluster itself, what you WILL need is a diagram of the connectors in the dash, so that you know where to grab which sensors from,

This actually sounds like a fairly cool project, I'm tempted to try it myself.

If you have a good Holden dealer they might be willing to photo copy the wiring diagrams from their Workshop Manuals. I went to Colin Watsons Holden in Traralgon, Vic, and they were helpful. Having said that, they can be a bit of a pain to read at times....have you completed this job yet?...best of luck if not
