I believe that the 5.7L V8 (the Gen III) from Holden can be dropped in (with a LOT of effort), naturally the 5L V8 can slot in as well. The 5.7 can then be bored/stroked to give you upwards of 6L capacity. If you've got the time and stupid amounts of money to throw at it, I dare say that it would be possible to slot a W9 or W12 engine in there (and I KNOW that hasn't been done). Really the only thing that is going to limit you on the size of the engine is the money you've got.
There are a few running around with 2JZ Supra engines in there, a few rotary VN's skid around the place, as well as a couple with ecotec engines.
The 3.8L to 5.0L conversion is by far the most common.
Have you got anything specific in mind in the way of an engine? |

| Thanks for that advice. I was wondering if you could strap a gen3 under the hood. Do you know of anyone that has done anything like that???? I'm really just wanting to put something under there for a bit of power and maybe a good sound. |

| If you want something that's going to help the old girl get up and dance, then a supercharged V6 ecotec engine would be a DAMN good move. Rebuild the engine, increase the boost a bit, get a set of custom pipes, and a custom tune...that'd leave the GenIII in the dust. |

| Im just strapping a turbo to mine... should be able to run 11's.... i'll be stoked with 13's. will leave most v8's in the dust and cost me 10 grand... now just getting a 5.7l gen 3 will cost u 6 grand, 9 grand if you get a tranny with it and then you will spend another 5 to 7 grand in labour and parts to fit it in... u do the maths... I know what i'd go with |

| Supercharged, Bored and Stroked Eco. Expensive, but will trounce the V8 every roll of the die (unless the V8 gets Turbo/Super Charged.. Or maybe Twin Turbo w/Supercharger *drool*) |
Don't mind me, Ive heard a lot, seen a bit, done some of it . That and Im probably not quite sober. |

| Unless the V8 is superchared, bored and stoked (supercharged 383 anyone?)... there's always going to be something bigger and better out there. Just make it so you enjoy yourself! Afterall, YOU are the most important thing in the equation. |
