just wondering if anybody hasnay advice on painting the front and rear bumpers.i want to re-spray them in a semi gloss black.is there a certain type of paint i should be using?and will i need to sand the bumpers back?they are just plain plastic grey at the moment.any advice on preperation and painting would be great.
you need to sand the bumper enough for the paint to grip, a moderate sand with 1200 is sufficiant. and its not the paint thats differant for painting plastic, its the flex compound that you have to add to stop the paint from cracking when the plastic flex's from heat, force etc
i have never bought plastic paint in a can but in this day and age it would be a high posibility. your only other chance woudl be to buy the compund which is availible at any paint shop. The rear bar is quite easy, its 2 bolts in the boot and it simply slides off, if you have rear mud flaps they will need to come off as well. the front bumper is a little harder but not too difficult.
ok il ask at a few paint shops then.yeah ive taken the front bumper off on a few occasions so i know it like the back of my hand.thanks for all the help nodg
