C'mon guys! I know theres a few people here from Adelaide.
I'll be moving back to Adelaide in early July and will be fully intending to organise a get together for as many adelaide VN owners as I can get my grimy mitts on!
At the moment I'm thinking it will be a carpark BBQ and a bit of a look and poke and each others cars as a bit of a getting to know you all moment. Then maybe a bit of a drive but we'll organise more once we've got a bit of an idea as to who is interested and what they'd look to do.
Hopefully it will only be one of many but obviously if it fizzes...

Nice- I guess if that attitude is the most common it isn't going to be worth it.
Do you mind if I ask why you couldn't be ****ed with a meet and greet? What would make it worth your while to get involved? |

Riiight.
Moving on.
Sounds good vn turbo- it'll probably be relatively late in the year so there's plenty of time to get it on the road. I'm talking to guys at my site and a few other commodore sites so we can make it a fairly sizable get together- 10-15 cars would be nice. |

Yeah- everyone was fine.
It's kind of worked out well... insurance paid $7500 in repairs and I topped it up with an extra $500 to get a the rest of the car sprayed while its in there and have the badges on the guards removed so the only badge on the car will be the Calais wings on the bonnet.
The only downside to it all is that the battery (a $400 Optima Yellow Top) was smashed and won't be replaced... small price to pay I guess.
You'll never hear me say a bad work about Shannons! |

How much you pay depends on the agreed value and modifications.
I pay more than $50 a month. |

I have just bought a VN Calais, its got a few minor problems at the moment but as soon as I sell my other 3 cars (hopefully soon) Ill be able to sort it out and get it registered, Im from Victor Harbor about 40 mins from Adelaide but I think it would be worth the trip to see some other nice VNs and get some ideas and inspiration. Please keep this updated as to when and where. A bbq sounds great by the way.
(random thought.. the Goolwa airport can be hired out for $40 a hour.. not too far from Adelaide and would be a chance to run some quaters or do some circle work ect for those interested or just if you want to watch.) |

Hahaha... not sure it's that simple (like with insurance etc. If someone gets killed I think I'd go to jail).
Keep us updated on the car... got pics? |

Insurance was in regards to hiring an airstrip.
I am really, really going to try and organise a cruise this year... most likely in spring on a nice sunny Sunday. At this stage I'm just getting information as to what sort of numbers I can expect to get and then looking at how other clubs do things so we don't fall into the dickhead factor trap and everyone has a good day.
It will definately happen eventually :) |

OK guys here's the word:
July 13th or 20th will be a get together and possibly small cruise home but the main focus will be on putting faces to names, having a chat and talking about the main cruise that will go ahead in October. At the moment the location is undecided but will most likely be a carpark next to a BBQ area so we can have some snags, keep an eye on the cars and kick ****.
Hopefully some of you blokes are still interested, but I don't foresee the July event being huge as the only place it'll be mentioned is here and on my own site.
Should be a good opportunity to snap some photos and show the WA boys up ;) |

Not sure at this stage.
I've been a bit lazy on organising it. I'll let you know as soon as I figure it out! |
